Get to know Santa Cruz Bikes a Bit Better

Santa Cruz mountain bikes are designed to provide the highest level of performance for all types of riders, from weekend warriors to professional downhillers. The company has a range of models that cater to everyone and their individual needs; all boasting advanced technology, superior craftsmanship, and exceptional durability. Each bike is built with innovative features such as Boost technology, Virtual Pivot Point (VPP™) suspension, Superlight™ and low-slung geometry.

What is Santa Cruz's VPP™ Suspension?

Santa Cruz is widely recognized for its innovative virtual pivot point (VPP™) design, a patented concept featuring two short links that rotate in opposite directions. This type of suspension offers engineers and designers the flexibility to tailor the shock rate of each bike according to its intended purpose and desired 'personality'.

The advantages of VPP™ are clear: it's lightweight, efficient, adjustable, and reliable—all ingredients for building an amazing mountain bike.

Santa Cruz Introduces Superlight™

Superlight™ was designed to get you across the finish line faster - ahead of your competitors. By reducing linkages and components, Santa Cruz was able to create an ultra-efficient drivetrain that won't weigh you down during XC racing's toughest courses while also delivering maximum traction. The result? A lightweight piece of equipment with a difference of 289 grams less than the previous VPP™ design.

High-Grade Carbon Fiber

Working closely with a manufacturing partner, Santa Cruz was able to curate high-grade carbon fiber frames. It's what Santa Cruz refers to as CC Carbon – some of the toughest and lightest on the market. But the best performance isn't just in the carbon frames; it's also evident throughout the top-quality carbon wheels, driveshafts, and suspension components on these models that provide superior ride experiences like no other.

For the C Carbon frames, Santa Cruz uses the same engineering processes as the high-end CC Carbon models, guaranteeing a strong and stiff ride – but with slightly increased weight. By employing an alternate grade of carbon fiber material during crafting, they were able to ensure riders can enjoy these benefits while making only minimal sacrifices when it comes to added load. Sometimes these weight differences are only marginal. You can choose from different tier models if the difference in grams 'really' matter to you!

What size Santa Cruz bike should I ride?

We highly recommend doing research and looking at the variances in bike geometry. Typically, we don't believe in choosing a size until you've ridden it. Most of us tend to look at rider size charts online and think they'll give us a definitive answer on the size we should select, however, these charts are mere guidelines.

If you find yourself struggling to decide between two Santa Cruz sizes, the best thing is to try them both out. If you can't make it to a Bike Depot store to do so, compare their stack/reach measurements with your current ride. at the least Not able to take it for a spin? Consider other metrics such as height ranges or even seating positions before making any purchasing decisions. We highly recommend you work with a Bike Depot fit specialist to determine the right size if you're not 100% sure.
